The Shillian Story
The Maze was constructed to be the final test for the knights of the land. Creatures from all over were captured and turned loose in the maze. Knights-to-be were expected to ride to the center and gather an object left there. This was a grueling test of strength and stamina, for there was no magic in the maze and the monsters fought them every step of the way. The compass may guide your footsteps when there are no walls or trees, if you are wise enough to know how to use it. Now, the maze is a breeding ground for evil and rumors whisper of a tower so black that even the sun will not shine upon it.
Maze Notes:
The Maze is one of Shilla's most important areas. The Compass allows you to find the Pyramid in the Desert, since you can see the true directions in the Desert, instead of random directions.
The Dead Ends in the Maze may bring you randomly to one of the Align Shrines, which you might be able to use to change align. They can also bring you to the (highly overrated) Green Nymph that drops Pearl Leggings. The Maze is a large area, and Spells simply don't work, so that means no Teleporting/Town Portaling out of there. You can, however, use the "Rescue Me" Button, under the Options Menu, but that will cost you half of all your experience and gold on hand. Enter with caution!
In the Outer Maze, creatures randomly appear from the areas Beach up to Mountain. Strongest you can expect are Ogres, Pegasus Scouts and Hydra's. In the Inner Maze new creatures appear. The Inner Maze gives overall better experience than the Deep Dark Forest, but it also takes alot of time to just get to the Inner Maze. Therefore, you might decide to just stay in the DDF until you're strong enough to 1-rd the Dungeons.
